2012: Taught sport and citizen’s journalism courses for young people in association with the Watershed Arts Cinema and the Cultural Olympiad in the South West. Working with Ujima Community Radio and the University of Bristol designing and delivering citizen journalism projects for young people as part of the university’s widening participation programme.
2005-2012: Part-time lecturer, Department of Sociology, University of Bristol, courses include Deep Play: Global Sport and the Modern World, The Politics of the Olympics, and a module on Globalization and Culture on the Sociology M.Sc. Wrote and designed an on-line course on global sport for the Faculty of Social Sciences, The Open University.
2005-2011: Educational and mentoring projects with Watershed Arts Cinema, Bristol City and Bristol Rovers football study centres and the University of the First Age, teaching primary and secondary school. Writer-in-Residence at the Bath Literary Festival, working on sports writing projects for kids.
